The Indian Economy Overview was launched by MediaWeb India in July 1996, as a Web-based magazine about India and it's economy. The launch focus was the first-ever live coverage of the Indian Fiscal Budget on the Web (22nd July, 1996). Since then, the WebZine has thrived, with the number of visitors steadily rising, and content has expanded to encompass many aspects of Indian economy and business. At MediaWeb India we have created several other major web sites for corporate clients, but the IEO has remained our flagship web site.
Current Press Releases:
- Indian Budget 1997-98 on the World Wide Web (1st February, 1997)
Key demographics:
- Over a quarter million visitors to the Indian Economy Overview in the last 6 months alone.
- Over 2.5 Gigabytes of text and graphics data transferred during this period.
- More than 1500 distinct visitors every day, with figures rapidly rising as Budget '97 approaches.

Work In Progress:
- The overall look of the site is being reworked, and audio-video and live chat sections are being added. You will have noticed the sleek new banners and graphics and the slimming down of large images, more changes will follow.
- A new classified advertisements section is being created, to cater to the many visitors who have asked for one. Advertisement rates will be nominal, and a post-box response mechanism will handle all replies.
- Advertisers and corporate sponsors for the upcoming Budget 1997-98 Live Coverage are being finalized. The response is good so far. Ad rates and related material are available. Please contact the marketing department soon if you wish to book ad space.
- The "Letters to the Editor" section has gone online. It will soon be converted to a threaded discussion format, to serve as an interactive forum for readers and the editorial team.
Other projects:
- HCL Corporation's web site has started receiving increasing traffic and feedback, since it's launch in December 1996. We will be adding considerable content to it over the first quarter of 1997.
- The NOIDA Software City web site, while still a prototype, has already caught visitor and media attention. The Taj Mahal theme of the site, and it's artwork, are generating great interest.
- A couple of major corporate sites (you'll never guess whose!) are in the pipeline, with expected launch dates in this quarter. Prototypes will be made public soon.
